Responsibilities
- Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless network systems.
- Cabling & Infrastructure: Perform physical cabling tasks, including fiber optic splicing, structured cabling, and rack management.
- Maintenance & Upgrades: Conduct regular maintenance checks, firmware updates, and hardware upgrades to ensure optimal network performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network incidents, connectivity issues, and hardware malfunctions with minimal downtime.
- Security: Implement and monitor network security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and system diagrams.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in network administration, troubleshooting, and hardware installation.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and work in various environments, including attics and crawl spaces.
