Responsibilities
- Install and Configure: Deploy, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, latency problems, and hardware failures efficiently.
- Cabling & Infrastructure: Perform physical installation of structured cabling, fiber optics, and copper cabling (Cat6/Cat6a).
- Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds or Wireshark to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Security Management: Assist in implementing network security protocols and VPN configurations to protect corporate assets.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network diagrams, configurations, and change logs.
- Support: Provide Tier 2 technical support to internal staff regarding network-related inquiries.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in network administration or technical support.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and OSI model.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces (attics/crawls) and various weather conditions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Availability: Must be available to start immediately and work flexible hours when necessary.
