The Role:
As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network systems. You will work closely with the IT infrastructure team to diagnose and resolve complex network issues, ensuring 99.9% uptime for our clients. Responsibilities
- Design, install, and configure local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
- Perform regular network audits, performance tuning, and security assessments to ensure system integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software conflicts.
- Monitor network traffic and performance metrics using tools like Wireshark or SolarWinds to proactively identify potential bottlenecks.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and changes in compliance with ITIL standards.
- Collaborate with system administrators to implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
- Assist in the procurement and deployment of new network hardware and cabling infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Valid CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration or technical support.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching protocols.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco routers and switches.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Ability to lift and carry network equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as needed.
