Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and PRTG, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks
- Implement network security protocols including VPNs, ACLs, and intrusion detection systems
- Document network topologies, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Troubleshoot complex network issues using packet analysis tools (Wireshark) and diagnostic commands
- Collaborate with cybersecurity team to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Provide Tier 2-3 technical support to resolve user connectivity issues within SLA targets
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement and maintenance contracts
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Network Engineering, IT, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- CompTIA Network+ and CCNA certifications required (CCNP or equivalent experience a plus)
- Minimum 3 years experience in enterprise network administration
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and QoS principles
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/Junos and Fortinet firewall management
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG)
- Strong scripting abilities (Python/PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Valid New Mexico driver's license for occasional site visits
