We are a leading information security firm seeking driven individuals to join our growing team as a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst. In this role, you will play a vital part in protecting our clients' sensitive data from cyber threats. You will work closely with our senior security analysts to monitor systems, analyze logs, and respond to potential security incidents. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the United States, with a focus on securing networks across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Systems: Utilize SIEM tools and security monitoring platforms to detect and analyze potential threats in real-time.
- Incident Response Support: Assist in the identification, triage, and documentation of security incidents, escalating issues to senior analysts when necessary.
- Vulnerability Management: Participate in regular vulnerability scanning and risk assessments to identify weaknesses in network infrastructure and applications.
- Security Compliance: Support internal audits and compliance initiatives by maintaining accurate records and adhering to security policies.
- Threat Analysis: Analyze threat intelligence reports and apply knowledge of common attack vectors to improve defensive posture.
- Collaboration: Work with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of servers, firewalls, and VPNs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; OR equivalent work experience and a strong passion for cybersecurity.
- Certifications: Security+ (CompTIA) is highly preferred; Network+ or similar foundational certifications are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically when faced with complex security scenarios.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Soft Skills: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new technologies and security protocols.
