Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Perform log analysis and vulnerability assessments on network devices and endpoints to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Assist in the triage and investigation of security incidents, including malware analysis and root cause determination.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security controls, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools.
- Conduct regular security audits and generate detailed reports on system health and threat landscapes.
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and improve overall system security posture.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threat actors, and defense strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- CompTIA Security+ certification is strongly preferred; willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP, Subnetting).
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server/Linux) and command-line interfaces.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to think critically.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting technical findings.
