Responsibilities
- Monitor and Analyze: Conduct 24/7 monitoring of security systems and SIEM platforms to identify potential threats, anomalies, and suspicious activities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Assist in the triage, containment, and remediation of security incidents and cyberattacks, working closely with senior analysts to resolve breaches.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for vulnerabilities and threats within the network infrastructure using advanced detection tools and methodologies.
- Log Management: Perform log analysis and correlation to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards (NIST, CIS).
- Security Hardening: Assist in the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Reporting: Generate detailed security reports and dashboards for stakeholders, translating complex technical data into actionable insights.
- Training & Support: Participate in regular security drills and provide basic security awareness training to other departments.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field. (Graduating seniors encouraged to apply).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) is highly preferred; willingness to obtain it within 6 months of hire is required.
- Networking Fundamentals: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, and routing protocols.
- Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems, command-line interfaces (CLI), and basic scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to think critically under pressure during security events.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
