Responsibilities
- Analyze macroeconomic, technological, and sociocultural signals to identify disruptive trends impacting 2026+ industries
- Develop scenario-based strategic frameworks for 5-10 year horizons using predictive modeling and horizon scanning
- Lead cross-functional workshops to translate foresight into R&D priorities and product roadmaps
- Author thought leadership publications and briefings for executive stakeholders and industry forums
- Partner with venture capital teams to identify and evaluate emerging technologies and startups
- Design and implement early-warning systems for market discontinuities and competitive threats
- Mentor innovation teams in futures thinking methodologies and strategic foresight tools
Qualifications
- 7+ years in strategy consulting, innovation, or futures research with Fortune 500 or high-growth tech firms
- Proven expertise in horizon scanning, trend analysis, and scenario planning methodologies
- Deep knowledge of exponential technologies (AI, quantum computing, biotech) and their societal impacts
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to distill complex futures into actionable insights
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Strategic Foresight, Technology Forecasting, or related field
- Experience with futures simulation tools (e.g., STEEP, Delphi methods, causal layered analysis)
- Portfolio of published foresight work or strategic frameworks implemented at scale
- Certification in Strategic Foresight (e.g., from University of Houston or foresight organizations)
