Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, and access points
- Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for internal and external network issues
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Nagios
- Document network configurations and update IT asset management systems
- Assist with network security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Collaborate with senior engineers on infrastructure upgrades
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation (rotating schedule)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred but not required)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI model)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work in server environments
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification (training provided)
- Valid driver's license for occasional client site visits
- Willingness to obtain relevant certifications within 6 months
