Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and escalate potential threats
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate case logs in ticketing systems
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing under supervision
- Assist with security policy implementation and compliance audits (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Participate in tabletop exercises and incident response simulations
- Conduct basic forensic investigations of security events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or relevant cybersecurity certification (CompTIA Security+, CySA+) preferred
- Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly in fast-paced technical environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for cybersecurity and willingness to pursue ongoing education
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contracts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic command-line tools
