In this pivotal role, you will gain hands-on experience monitoring network traffic, analyzing security alerts, and protecting critical infrastructure. You will work alongside industry veterans in a high-performance environment dedicated to innovation and defensive excellence.
What You Will Do:
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats in real-time.
- Perform initial triage and documentation of security incidents and suspicious activities.
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of network security devices, including firewalls and IDS/IPS.
- Conduct routine vulnerability assessments and support patch management processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and compliance standards.
- Participate in red team/blue team exercises to test and improve our defensive postures.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Currently residing in Illinois or willing to relocate to San Jose, CA.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Experience with Linux/Windows command line and scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Eagerness to obtain industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, or CEH.
