Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events in real-time using SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify and mitigate threats.
- Perform routine vulnerability scans and assist in the remediation of security vulnerabilities within the network.
- Conduct log analysis and forensic investigations to determine the scope of security incidents.
- Support the implementation of security policies, procedures, and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Document security incidents and create detailed incident reports for stakeholders and management.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of servers and endpoints.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ is highly preferred; willingness to obtain CISSP or CEH within 2 years.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and database fundamentals.
- Tools: Familiarity with security tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, or basic scripting (Python/Bash) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion: A genuine interest in cybersecurity trends, malware analysis, and threat intelligence.
