Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Events: Review and analyze alerts from SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential security incidents.
- Incident Response: Assist in the triage, containment, and remediation of security breaches and vulnerabilities.
- Log Analysis: Conduct daily log reviews to detect anomalies and ensure system integrity.
- Threat Hunting: Participate in proactive hunting exercises to identify hidden threats within the network.
- Vulnerability Management: Support the team in scanning, assessing, and reporting on system vulnerabilities.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of security incidents, actions taken, and post-incident reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Networking Basics: Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Technical Interest: Familiarity with Linux/Windows command line and basic scripting (Python or PowerShell is a plus).
- Security Awareness: Knowledge of security concepts such as CIA triad, encryption, and authentication.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear technical reports.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
