Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats
- Investigate security incidents, document findings, and assist with remediation procedures
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing under senior guidance
- Assist in developing security documentation including incident response plans
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation (rotating schedule with advanced notice)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls
- Stay current on emerging threats and security best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent military experience)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship)
