Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Document and escalate security incidents following established protocols
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing under guidance
- Analyze network traffic to detect potential threats
- Assist in developing security policies and procedures
- Participate in incident response simulations and tabletop exercises
- Conduct security awareness training for employees
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and mitigation techniques
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, Network+, etc.) a plus but not required
- Willingness to obtain Security+ certification within 6 months
