Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events within SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats.
- Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support for internal networks.
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed logs of security activities and remediation efforts.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of security appliances and firewalls.
- Respond to and remediate security incidents according to established playbooks.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of operating systems and applications.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and command line interfaces.
- Knowledge of security concepts such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current enrollment or recent completion of a relevant certification course (e.g., Security+, CEH) is a plus.
