Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Assist in the configuration and management of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to ensure system integrity.
- Document security incidents, analyze logs, and prepare incident reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement and enforce security policies and compliance standards.
- Participate in security awareness training programs and security drills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certification in CompTIA Security+ is highly preferred for entry-level candidates.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical team members.
