Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and analyze system logs to identify potential threats and anomalies in real-time.
- Assist in the investigation and triage of security incidents and help contain breaches effectively.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and basic penetration testing to strengthen our network defenses.
- Support the deployment and configuration of firewalls, anti-virus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
- Document security protocols, incident reports, and system configurations for audit purposes.
- Participate in security awareness training programs to educate the organization on best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- CompTIA Security+ certification is highly preferred (training provided if not certified).
- Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and VPNs.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and command line interfaces.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical findings.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
