Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and SIEM logs for suspicious activity and potential threats.
- Assist in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of firewalls and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
- Perform vulnerability assessments and basic penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Document security incidents, maintain audit trails, and create detailed reports for management.
- Conduct security awareness training sessions for internal employees to reduce human error.
- Support the incident response team during active security breaches.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and threat landscapes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Certifications such as Security+, Network+, or CompTIA IT Fundamentals (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and OSI model.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
