Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious network activity
- Analyze firewall logs and intrusion detection alerts to identify potential threats
- Document security incidents using standardized reporting protocols (SOAR)
- Collaborate with incident response teams during security breach investigations
- Conduct vulnerability assessments using automated scanning tools (Nessus/OpenVAS)
- Participate in tabletop cybersecurity simulations to enhance response readiness
- Assist with patch management and compliance reporting for regulatory frameworks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Proficient with Windows/Linux operating systems
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts in 24/7 security operations center
- CompTIA Security+ certification (training provided)
- Willingness to obtain CISSP within 24 months of hire
