Responsibilities
- Security Monitoring: Assist in the continuous monitoring of security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect anomalies and potential intrusions.
- Incident Triage: Support the security operations center by logging, categorizing, and prioritizing security alerts under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Vulnerability Management: Participate in routine vulnerability scanning and the remediation process for identified system weaknesses.
- Policy Enforcement: Help ensure compliance with internal security protocols and assist in user access control management.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs and reports regarding security incidents and system health.
- Threat Research: Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and emerging attack vectors to better protect the organization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Networking Basics: Fundamental understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI Model, DNS, HTTP).
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortability with basic computer operations and a willingness to learn new software tools.
- Analytical Skills: Strong logical thinking and the ability to analyze complex data to identify trends.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Integrity: A high level of professional ethics and discretion when handling sensitive information.
