Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for anomalous activity
- Investigate and document security incidents using forensic methodologies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on internal networks
- Assist with implementing security controls and hardening systems
- Create and maintain security documentation and incident response playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with network protocols and security fundamentals
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Active clearance or eligibility for government contracts preferred
