Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Document security incidents using standardized frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK)
- Implement basic firewall and endpoint protection configurations
- Participate in incident response drills and tabletop exercises
- Conduct regular security awareness training for employees
- Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Network+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and network architecture
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
