Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for security anomalies and potential threats
- Perform vulnerability scans and patch management assessments across enterprise networks
- Document security incidents using NIST frameworks and contribute to post-mortem analyses
- Assist with compliance audits (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS) and policy documentation
- Participate in tabletop exercises simulating ransomware and APT attack scenarios
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to implement security controls
- Research emerging threats and contribute to threat intelligence reports
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Strong analytical problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 Security Operations Center coverage
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for incident reporting
- Active DoD 8570 compliance baseline (IAT Level II preferred)
