Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential threats
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response playbooks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and prepare detailed reports
- Stay updated on emerging threats and security trends through continuous learning
- Assist in compliance audits for frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Familiarity with security tools: Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- US citizenship required for government contract work
