Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential threats
- Document security incidents and assist in remediation procedures
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing under supervision
- Analyze network traffic patterns to identify anomalous activities
- Assist in maintaining security documentation and compliance reports
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives
- Collaborate with SOC team members during incident response
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent in IT/Cybersecurity (or relevant experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and learn quickly
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification preferred (not required)
- Passion for cybersecurity and eagerness to develop technical skills
