Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activities
- Assist in incident response procedures including evidence collection and documentation
- Perform vulnerability assessments using industry-standard tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Conduct security audits and compliance checks for regulatory frameworks (NIST, HIPAA)
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Participate in tabletop exercises simulating cyber attack scenarios
- Create and maintain security documentation including policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Knowledge of common attack vectors (phishing, malware, ransomware)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 security operations environment
