Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on client networks
- Document security incidents and generate comprehensive forensic reports
- Assist with security policy development and compliance audits (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Collaborate with incident response teams during security breach investigations
- Implement firewall configurations and access control mechanisms
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident response
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or CEH certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems
- Familiarity with security tools like Wireshark, Nmap, or Metasploit
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced team environments
