Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection platforms
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security risks
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and respond to incidents within SLA timeframes
- Develop and execute security awareness training programs for employees
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices into system architectures
- Document security policies, procedures, and incident response plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CompTIA CySA+ required
- Proficiency in security tools: Splunk, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust architectures
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing methodologies
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance (if required for specific projects)
