Responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Implement and monitor security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Incident response handling for security breaches with detailed forensic analysis
- Develop security documentation including policies, procedures, and risk assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
- Monitor SIEM platforms and respond to security alerts in real-time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with network security tools
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Proficiency in penetration testing tools (Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, PCI-DSS)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on short-term projects
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation for client site visits
