Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events using SIEM tools like Splunk and ArcSight.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify system weaknesses.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and other network security hardware.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards through regular audits and documentation.
- Develop and update incident response plans and security policies.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to secure cloud environments and applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related IT role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP protocols, network architecture, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Experience with security tools including Nessus, Wireshark, and Nmap.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and training purposes.
