Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and respond to alerts during weekend shifts (Sat-Sun 6PM-6AM)
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and compile detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security protocols and threat mitigation
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and industry best practices
- Document security procedures and update incident response plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with SIEM experience
- CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in threat detection tools (Splunk, CrowdStrike, etc.)
- Experience with Windows/Linux environments and network protocols
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and willingness to relocate to Houston
