Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) during weekend shifts
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware, phishing, and DDoS attacks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and maintain security documentation
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies through continuous learning
- Participate in weekend rotation for 24/7 security operations center coverage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently during off-hours
- Knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure) and threat intelligence platforms
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance preferred
