Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) during weekend shifts
- Investigate security incidents using forensic tools and threat intelligence sources
- Execute incident response procedures including containment, eradication, and recovery
- Document security events and maintain detailed incident reports for audit compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and patches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on weekend schedules
- Stay current with emerging threats and zero-day vulnerabilities through continuous training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SOC operations
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and network security protocols
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, AlienVault)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently during off-peak hours
- Knowledge of NIST frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements
- Excellent written communication skills for incident reporting
