Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents with SLA-driven urgency
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security documentation (playbooks, incident reports)
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and threat intelligence (MITRE ATT&CK framework)
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or SOC analyst roles
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Nessus)
- Experience with incident response protocols (NIST SP 800-61)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure during security incidents
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
