Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events in real-time using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct daily security scans and vulnerability assessments to ensure the integrity of systems and networks.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including root cause analysis and incident report preparation.
- Manage and maintain firewall rules and network access controls to enforce the principle of least privilege.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security patches and software updates.
- Assist in compliance audits (SOC2, HIPAA, ISO 27001) and ensure documentation is up to date.
- Conduct security awareness training sessions for employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation tasks.
- Experience with endpoint protection solutions (EDR) and identity management systems (Okta, Azure AD).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
