The Role:
As a Cybersecurity Analyst trainee, you will be the first line of defense against cyber threats. You will monitor network traffic, identify vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents, ensuring the safety of our clients' digital assets.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM tools and IDS/IPS systems in real-time to detect potential threats.
- Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents and execute incident response procedures to minimize damage.
- Perform daily vulnerability assessments, risk scans, and patch management to reduce exposure to attacks.
- Document security policies, procedures, and detailed incident reports with precision and clarity.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure secure network architecture design and implementation.
- Assist in compliance audits, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001 standards.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and threat actor methodologies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.
- Currently pursuing or recently obtained CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Model, DNS, HTTP, and common network protocols.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and command line interfaces (CLI).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a 24/7 SOC environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for on-site training.
