Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential threats using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Document security incidents and create detailed incident response reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Analyze malware samples and develop countermeasures for emerging threats
- Ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS regulatory requirements
- Participate in red team exercises to simulate and defend against cyber attacks
- Maintain and optimize security tools including EDR solutions and firewalls
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred in IT/Security)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to obtain Security+ or CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to complete paid cybersecurity training program (40 hrs/week)
- U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain DoD clearance (required for certain projects)
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
