The Role: Cybersecurity Analyst
As a Cybersecurity Analyst within our paid training cohort, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our client's infrastructure. You will work closely with senior analysts to monitor security events, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and SIEM platforms to identify and investigate potential threats and vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support to strengthen our security posture.
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate with internal teams to mitigate risks and restore normal operations.
- Perform log analysis and reporting to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Assist in the implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
- Collaborate with external auditors and compliance teams to ensure adherence to standards such as HIPAA and SOC 2.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience in IT.
- Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting complex technical findings.
- Drive: A self-starter mentality with a genuine passion for cybersecurity and continuous learning.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation result.
