Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events and alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Lead and coordinate incident response efforts during security breaches or cyber attacks.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Develop and update security policies, procedures, and employee training programs.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or a related role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during critical incidents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to stakeholders.
