Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to suspicious activities and security breaches.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in network infrastructure and applications.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, including malware analysis, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access.
- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security controls to protect organizational assets.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of servers, databases, and cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response plans and security policies.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to staff across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Active Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related IT role.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix).
- Experience with security tools such as Splunk, Wireshark, Nmap, and SIEM platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a high-threat environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites within the Las Vegas area.
