Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential breaches in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and code reviews to identify weaknesses in network infrastructure and applications.
- Manage and configure firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access controls to enforce security policies.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, providing detailed post-incident reports and recommendations for process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies, HIPAA, NIST, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement secure coding practices and secure deployment procedures.
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and security trends to recommend proactive defensive measures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security analysis.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and incident response procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder updates.
