Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and mitigate threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents and provide detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and risk assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS standards
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or security analysis
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (required)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, network protocols, and security frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security data
- Experience with incident response procedures and threat hunting
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for reporting to stakeholders
