Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure and applications
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Incident response coordination including threat containment, eradication, and recovery procedures
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, playbooks, and post-mortem reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into system lifecycles
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies through continuous research
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys), and network protocols
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and container security (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of NIST frameworks, ISO 27001, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats in high-pressure situations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain within 30 days (for federal projects)
