Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk/Symantec) for real-time threat detection and incident response
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using Qualys/Nessus
- Develop and maintain security playbooks for threat mitigation procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement NIST 800-53 security controls
- Generate executive-level security dashboards and monthly risk reports
- Lead incident response coordination during security breaches
- Research emerging threats and recommend defensive countermeasures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity operations experience
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, firewalls (Palo Alto/Check Point), and endpoint protection
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant/Recorded Future)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and common attack vectors
- Ability to work rotating on-call shifts for incident response
- Excellent written communication for reporting and stakeholder updates
