Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Systems: Analyze security alerts and logs from SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and anomalies in real-time.
- Incident Response: Assist in the triage, investigation, and containment of security incidents and minor breaches.
- Threat Hunting: Conduct proactive searches for hidden threats and vulnerabilities within the network environment.
- Access Management: Assist in managing user access rights, performing privilege reviews, and enforcing the principle of least privilege.
- Compliance Reporting: Support internal audits and compliance documentation (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA) by gathering necessary evidence and logs.
- Security Awareness: Help develop and deliver security awareness training materials to internal staff.
- System Patching: Collaborate with IT operations to ensure timely patching of operating systems and applications to mitigate known vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (or willingness to obtain within 6 months) is highly preferred.
- Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, and common network protocols.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with basic Linux commands and scripting (Python or Bash) is a plus.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to think critically and solve complex problems under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing logs, configurations, and reports.
