Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor security alerts and analyze threats across the network perimeter, endpoints, and cloud environments using SIEM tools.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses before malicious actors do.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, data breaches, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Implement and maintain security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR through regular audits and policy reviews.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to design secure software architectures and secure coding practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Certification preferred: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or incident response.
- Proficiency with security tools (e.g., Splunk, SIEM, FireEye, CrowdStrike, Tenable).
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud security (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to stay updated on the latest cyber threats and defense strategies.
