Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar) to detect potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough incident investigations, root cause analysis, and incident response activities to contain and mitigate threats.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems (EDR) to ensure network integrity.
- Enforce security policies and compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA) across the organization.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement secure coding practices and patch management strategies.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing support, and security audits.
- Document security incidents, maintain audit trails, and create detailed technical reports.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in a SOC, Security Operations Center, or related security role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are a significant plus.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud security concepts (AWS/Azure).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and log analysis.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- Clearance to work in a federal contracting environment is a plus.
