Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Systems: Assist in the real-time monitoring of network traffic, logs, and alerts to identify potential security breaches and anomalies.
- Incident Response Support: Participate in the initial triage and documentation of security incidents, working alongside senior analysts to contain and resolve threats.
- Vulnerability Management: Support the identification and reporting of software and hardware vulnerabilities within the organization's network.
- Security Audits: Help conduct routine security assessments and compliance checks to ensure adherence to internal policies and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of security events, system configurations, and incident reports.
- User Support: Provide basic security awareness training and guidance to non-technical staff regarding phishing and password hygiene.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent experience is considered.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Certifications: Possession of or active pursuit of CompTIA Security+ or Network+ is highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mindset: A genuine curiosity about how systems work and a relentless drive to learn new security tools and methodologies.
