Responsibilities
- Threat Detection & Monitoring: Continuously monitor security alerts and SIEM logs to identify potential breaches and malicious activities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead and coordinate the technical response to cybersecurity incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery operations.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and implement remediation strategies.
- Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA through audits and policy enforcement.
- Security Architecture: Assist in the design, configuration, and maintenance of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.
- User Training: Educate staff on security best practices and phishing awareness to strengthen the human firewall.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in information security, SOC operations, or network defense.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint protection platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and common attack vectors (OWASP Top 10).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure during security events.
